Excellent Japanese Teachers and their Works

It was held ICME9(Tokyo 2000) at Makuhari-Messe in Chiba pref. from 31th of July to 6th of Aug.. It was the conference that teachers and researchers over the world, who deal with mathematics education, attended there. There were many lectures by famous reseachers and many reports about theoretical research and practical ones. Hearing these reports, I thought, the level of Japanese mathematics education is very high. Especially, it seemed that practical research on the base of lesson research has high quality of values to introduce mathematics educators over the world. And so, I will introduce Japanese teachers and their works who have led and contributed to Japanese elementary mathematics education so much.
